ONE is a sports coach, one is an air stewardess and one is a bank clerk.

But today they will be among a dozen glamorous girls competing to be crowned Hampshire’s beauty queen.

The 12 girls will do battle in the Miss Hampshire 2012 final at Southampton’s WestQuay shopping centre from 5pm this evening as they fight for a place in the prestigious Miss England contest.

The lucky winner will also receive a modelling contract from event organisers Front Models, as well as a styling consultation and personal shopping experience from Casey Paul Styling.

Young hopefuls from across the county will be strutting their stuff on the catwalk in front of a live audience and an expert judging panel, headed up by current Miss England, Alize Mounter, and Miss Hampshire 2011, Georgina Denton.

The finalists will compete in three catwalk rounds, including day wear, evening wear and fashion rounds, which shoppers can watch free of charge.

They will also take part in the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ category, to see which of the finalists has raised the most money for charity.

Katy McCaffrey, from WestQuay, said: “It promises to be a very fun and exciting event and we will be supporting whoever wins all the way to the Miss England final.”
