A MAN hunt is underway after thieves tried to steal a cash machine from a Hampshire filling station early this morning.
Police were called at around 1.30am amid reports an ATM was being “attacked” at Esso station on Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh.
It is thought a van was used in an attempt to pull the free-standing unit from its base - tools were also found discarded nearby after the offenders fled from the scene.
The same morning, detectives seized a white Renault van in Dutton Lane - the same vehicle they believe was involved in the incident.
Officers have this morning conducted house to house enquiries and are also reviewing CCTV footage.
Witnesses should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
