A MAN made a 10 minute appearance before Southampton magistrates today in connection with the murder of a crane driver whose body was found in his burnt out car.
Afrin Lleshi, 36, of Shirley Road, Southampton, was accused that between April 8 to 12 he attempted to pervert the course of justice in relation to the death of Agim Hoxha.
The prosecution allege Lleshi, originally from Albania but now a UK citizen, disposed of the body of 28-year-old Mr Hoxha.
The keen footballer, who lived in Cranbury Place, Southampton, was found dead in the back seat of his Mercedes car after firefighters were called to a secluded area of Chilworth Grove, following reports the vehicle was on fire.
Police say he was already dead before being put into the vehicle.
Following a statement from prosecutor Ian Harris about the background to the case and his reasons for objecting to bail, Lleshi was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Crown Court on June 19 for a plea and case management hearing.
Michael Redpath, defending, made no application for bail.
