A HAMPSHIRE council battling to cut costs has axed a total of 100 jobs in the past three years, the Daily Echo can reveal.
About 30 of the people who have left Tory-run New Forest District Council were the victims of compulsory redundancy. A further ten employees took voluntary redundancy, and the other job cuts were achieved through natural wastage.
The council released the figures after the overall total was disclosed in a report published ahead of next week’s Cabinet meeting.
It reveals that leisure boss Bob Millard is set to become the latest casualty of the jobs cull following the decision to privatise the management of Dibden Golf Centre.
As reported in the Daily Echo, the council-owned centre will be run by MyTime Active, which has just signed a 30-year contract.
