THE CIVIC Centre and city lampposts are to be decked out in Saints flags to celebrate the club’s promotion to the Premier League - but city bosses say there are no current plans to hold an open top bus parade.
Southampton City Council leader Royston Smith said: “As far as I know there are no plans at the moment for an open top bus parade." The council has spoken to the club but Cllr Smith said he was not aware of any immediate plans for the victorious team to tour the city.
He said: “Everyone would enjoy seeing it and we are on stand-by to celebrate in the appropriate way.”
Current plans are for banners around the city centre and replacing council building Union flags with Saints ones.
