POLICE have cordoned off an area of woodland on the outskirts of Southampton.
Several police officers are guarding a scene off Botley Road, Sholing.
A track opposite Delius Avenue, which is popular with dog walkers, has been taped off since around 4pm.
Hampshire police said it could not comment on the nature of the operation, but insisted it was "nothing for members of the public to be concerned about”.
