SAINTS legend Matt Le Tissier will kick off the celebrations when a new £3.8m sports facility is unveiled in Southampton this month.

The footballer-turned-pundit will line up alongside other ex-Saints players to take on a team of students from Southampton Solent University to mark the unveiling of the Test Park Sports Ground, off Lower Brownhill Road, on Sunday, May 20.

The match will also raise funds for the Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund and ex Saints player charities.

Test Park, which will be home to the university’s men’s and women’s football and American football teams, as well as Oakwood Football Club and Hampshire Thrashers American Football club, has a full size multi-purpose all-weather sports pitch, an FA Step 5 football facility and two adult-size grass pitches. There is also a changing room pavilion with teaching space, a function room for hire and bar and catering facilities.

Tickets to the charity match, which kicks off at 2pm, are available from Southampton Solent University and Test Park Sports Ground receptions, costing £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Family tickets are £12, or £10 if bought in advance.
