TWO drunken men broke into a Southampton house late at night thinking it was a shop, the city crown court was told.
It was not until they heard the voice of the woman occupier that they realised they had kicked in the front door of a house, Judge Peter Henry was told.
Kevin Seymour, 27, of Somerset Terrace, Southampton, and Blake Gill, 21, of Falklands Road, Southampton, admitted entering the Foundry Lane property with intent to steal and received 12 months suspended sentences with 18 months supervision.
Gill was told to carry out 250 hours unpaid work and pay £1,000 costs, Seymour has to do 225 hours work for the community and pay £800 costs.
