A CLUBBER was left with reduced smell and taste after being floored in a Southampton club, the city crown court heard.
Amardeep Khalsa’s reaction to having drink splashed on him in Cafe Parfait was to punch Elliot Benham twice in the face.
Prosecutor Anthony Bailey said the victim lost consciousness for about five to ten minutes before being taken to the General Hospital where he was found to be suffering from “a minute leak” from the brain. It might take him six months to regain his reduced senses – if at all.
Khalsa, 22, of Jessie Gardens, Southampton, admitted causing actual bodily harm.
Ordering him to pay £350 compensation and carry out 150 hours of unpaid work for the community, Judge Gary Burrell QC said Khalsa was otherwise a decent, hard working young man who had acted out of character.
