Dragon boat racers fired up for fundraising fun
IT was an oar-some sight as dragon boats gathered in Southampton for a charity race.
Team leaders were breathing fire as they drove on their 11-strong crews up a 200-metre course off Mayflower Park.
Hundreds lined the shore to cheer as 14 colourful boats powered up and down the coast.
More than 140 workers from various companies in Southampton took part in the event, organised by BDO accountants. It was part of a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the Rainbow Centre, which supports children with cerebral palsy and adults with a stroke, MS and Parkinson’s disease.
