POLICE are linking three burglaries within the space of a few hours from student homes in the Polyon area of Southampton.

In the first raid, a laptop computer and a wallet were taken from a ground-floor bedroom of a house in Cromwell Road between 11pm on Friday and 3am on Saturday.

Between 3am and 11am on Saturday a thief gained entry to a house on Wilton Avenue while the residents were in bed, stealing an Xbox 360 games console with two controllers and ten games, and a 32-inch TV from the living room.

And in a third overnight incident, a Compaq laptop worth more than £500 was stolen during a break-in at a student house on nearby Kenilworth Road.
