Southampton University has risen six places in a prestigious British higher education league table.
The Highfield-based university was named 22nd best UK institution in the Guardian university guide 2013, which measures teaching quality, spending per student, career prospects and student satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Southampton Solent was placed 117th out of the 120 institutions, a drop from last year’s 112th place, while the University of Winchester slipped to 87th, from 69th in the 2012 guide.
