POLICE were last night still searching for a Hampshire dad who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Officers say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of roofer John Dunkel, who is thought to be depressed over money worries.

Mr Dunkel, pictured, 56, of New Milton, has not been seen since May 13, when he spoke to his 13-year-old son.

He was last seen driving a Renault traffic caravan, which has since been recovered near the junction of White Knights and Barton Court Avenue in Barton-on-Sea.

Last night police confirmed that officers had combed the Barton foreshore as part of their search for Mr Dunkel.

A spokesman said: “Though he comes from the New Milton area friends and relatives had different addresses for him and it’s thought he may have been staying in the West Hill Road area of Bournemouth.

“It’s known that John has had financial worries and other concerns, which may have led to him becoming depressed.”

Mr Dunkel is described as white, 5ft 6in, stocky with a distinctive limp. He has hazel coloured eyes and thinning brown hair that is starting to go grey. Call Lymington police on 101.
