A YOUNG woman was indecently assaulted and punched in the face in a terrifying attack.
The woman in her twenties was walking home in Winchester in the early hours of this morning when the assault happened.
Today police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The victim was on Romsey Road around 3am when she said she became aware of a man behind her.
He ran at her and despite a desperate struggle, indecently assaulted her and punched her in the face before running off.
Inspector Rachel Upfold, said: ”We would like to hear from anyone who was travelling along Romsey Road, either on foot or in a vehicle between 2.30 and 3.30 this morning, June 16.
“Perhaps you noticed the victim? She is 5 ft 4 tall, small build, with long blonde hair wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.”
She added: “The man is described as white, with a tanned complexion; in his mid twenties; wearing dark clothing. He had medium length blonde layered hair and has been described as having a “Roman” quite pointed nose.”
