THE body of a man believed to be missing Eastleigh 33-year-old Ben Hilton has been recovered from The Solent, police have revealed.
The man's body was spotted by the Coastguard in water near Hayling Island at around 9am today.
A Hampshire police spokesman said that although formal identification is still to be carried out, it is believed to be Mr Hilton, of Sopwith Road, Eastleigh.
As reported by the Daily Echo, Mr Hilton had attended a wedding reception at the Roebuck pub in Winchester on Friday, June 8.
Afterwards he was seen by a friend boarding a train at Winchester railway station at 9.16pm.
It has since been established that Mr Hilton arrived at Portsmouth Harbour railway station the same evening where he was seen on CCTV getting off a train. He was alone.
Mr Hilton was then seen on the staff side of the Wightlink catamaran jetty at Portsmouth Harbour at 10.18pm, the last confirmed sighting of him.
Police said they were not treating his death as suspicious.
