OLYMPIAN Pete Waterfield had the honour of presenting a Southampton pub’s bumper cheque to help |people battling cancer.
The multi-medal winning diver was at The Saints Pub to hand over £2,500 which had been raised by loyal customers during a bank holiday fundraiser at the start of the month.
The cheque was handed to regular Ron Attwill surrounded by regulars at the Millbrook pub and licensee Eugene McManus who said: “There are very few families that remain untouched by a disease like cancer and we wanted to raise awareness. The money raised really highlights the generosity of the local community.”
