THE former chief executive of a Hampshire charity appeared in court yesterday on five charges of fraud against the organisation.
Christopher Hedges, 60, of Pembroke Close, Eastleigh , faced four allegations of fraud by submitting false claims for expenses and one of submitting a false claim for pay in lieu of an untaken holiday to which he was not entitled while he was in charge of Open Sight.
He also faced a sixth charge alleging that he retained a wrongful credit.
The allegations cover a period between March 1, 2007, and December 31, 2010.
Dressed in a dark suit, with a blue shirt and patterned tie, Hedges clasped his hands in front of him as he entered not guilty pleas.
Following a ten-minute hearing at Southampton Crown Court , Judge Derwin Hope extended his bail pending trial in December.
