Southampton ’s Alex Danson goes serching for more Olympic hockey success later today.

The Southampton-born former Trojans star netted twice on Sunday as the GB women’s squad caned Japan 4-0 in their first group qualifying match of London 2012.

Now Danson and the rest of the squad face Korea, who lost 4-0 to China in their opening game.

Great Britain midfielder Helen Richardson believes the side have adjusted very quickly mentally to a home Olympics and that will serve them well as they go looking for their second victory in the competition tonight.

"When we were in the changing room it just felt like another tournament," said Richardson, who will be the most experienced player in the side as captain Kate Walsh is missing having had a plate inserted into a jaw fractured in Sunday's game, although she may still play later in the competition.

"That is great because that is the psychology side of things we've been working on.

"All the preparation to this point has paid off with a really solid start.

"You always want to get the first game under your belts and we've got three points and we played some decent hockey against Japan.

"But we have put the Japan game to bed and concentrate on Korea.

"They will want to come out and put their defeat right and they are similar opposition to Japan in the way they play down the channels."
