A GANG of young thieves stole six pedal bikes after gathering for a pre-planned fight at a park.
Eight youths stole the bicycles from North Baddesley Recreation Ground – the site of an organised brawl.
The victims, a group of 15 and 16-year-olds who were not connected to the fight, were playing in the Castle Lane park.
The thieves cycled away towards Eastleigh . However, one of the alleged offenders was spotted later by a member of the public in Riverside Park, Bitterne Park , on one of the stolen bikes.
Police say two of the suspects were white and six were black.
All of the cycles were mountain bikes and together were worth hundreds of pounds.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to either the fight or the thefts, which happened on July 28 at around 6pm.
