South coast sailor Annie Lush insists the slate is wiped clean from here on in as she and her Great Britain match racing team enter the knockout stages at London 2012.

The 32-year-old readily admits that herself and sisters Lucy and Kate Macgregor have been far from on top form so far at the Olympics .

This was no more evident than on Saturday when the 2010 world champions lost to both Netherlands and USA in their final two round-robin matches.

However, a dip in form hasn’t stopped Great Britain from securing their spot in the quarter-finals, where they will take on Russia.

“I don’t feel we’ve sailed our best this week,” Lush said.

“But the main thing is that we’ve got through into the quarter finals. So it’s quite a big relief to make it through and now we can wipe away last week and start afresh on Tuesday.

“Hopefully that first week of Olympic nerves is out the way and we basically start again now with a week of Olympic experience behind us and we will do it properly.”

“From now on we will be doing more intense racing so it will be a bit more normal.”
