FIVE men have been handed fines totalling more than £1,000 for urinating in a town centre.
Matthew Ayres, 27, was caught urinating in a public place and on the road in which he lives – Eastleigh High Street.
He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £80 costs and a £15 victim surcharge at Southampton Magistrates’ Court – a hearing he did not attend.
David Eales, 21, of Wild Cherry Way, Eastleigh, was also caught relieving himself in the High Street and was fined £55 with £20 costs and a £15 victim surcharge after pleading guilty to the offence.
A third man, 21-year-old Sam Hooper, of Burke Drive in Southampton, was spotted urinating at Eastleigh’s Swan Centre shopping mall and after admitting to the offence was ordered to pay a fine of £150, costs of £50 and a £15 victim surcharge.
Meanwhile Luke Jones, 20, of Clandon Drive, Eastleigh, was fined £125 with £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge after pleading guilty to urinating in Market Street.
Pankiz Mulhan, of Locksley Road, Eastleigh, was fined £300 with £80 costs and a £15 victim surcharge for urinating at the town’s police station. The case, at Southampton Magistrates Court, was proved in his absence.
All the cases were brought by Eastleigh Borough Council and the offences took place between February and May this year.
