SO now we have it! “ The current financial situation at the Ageas Bowl is not sustainable.”
Now we could be forgiven for thinking that these words were spoken by Keith House ’s opponents on this matter.
But not a bit of it! This is a statement from Eastleigh Borough Council ’s own officers.
One would be entitled to think that such comments would urge caution on Cllr House and his merry band, but not a bit of it.
They merrily vote in favour of proceeding with this mad scheme and in the process take a serious risk with £35m of the council taxpayers’ money.
In addition, we now find there are serious questions from Sport England over this venue which could leave the council with a crippling payback amount should it all go wrong.
