A WOULD-BE sex attacker tried to assault a woman in Gosport as she walked home from a night out.
The 20-year-old had left the Clarence Tavern in Mumby Road at 1.15am yesterday when she was approached by the man.
He tried to sexually assault her, but she managed to struggle free.
The attacker is described as white with tanned skin, aged around 30 and slim. He had short hair and wore jeans and a shirt.
Police are appealing for taxi drivers and other people who were out in the town and may have seen something to get in touch. Anyone with information should call Fareham CID on 101.
