THE port of Southampton has seen many an old seadog on the dockside over the decades, but none have been quite like Pudsey, the winner of television’s talent show, Britain’s Got Talent.

Together with his owner, Ashleigh Butler, Pudsey stepped ashore after crossing the Atlantic in the lap of luxury on board Cunard ’s flagship, Queen Mary 2 after a month-long tour of the United States.

During the seven-night crossing on the biggest ocean liner in the world, Pudsey wowed the ship’s 2,600 passengers with two special performances of their Charleston dance routine from the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.

Ever the entertainer, Pudsey couldn’t even resist performing for the crowd on the quayside in Southampton after disembarkation.

Ashleigh said: “We really enjoyed our time on board Queen Mary 2 – I’ve been on a cruise ship before but QM2 is so much grander, and we were given such a warm welcome.

“The ship even has a special dog-walking deck where Pudsey could get his share of sea air! I could tell Pudsey really enjoyed performing, he just loves the limelight.’’ QM2 is the only passenger ship which is equipped with kennels so pet dogs can travel on board with their owners.
