POLICE are hunting for a conman who stole £310 from an elderly woman after claiming he was from the water board.
The 76-year-old allowed the man into her home in Radcliffe Road, Southampton , on August 12, sometime between 10.30am and 11am.
He asked the woman to empty her under-sink cupboard while he pretended to look for a valve elsewhere in the house. It was only when he left that she realised £300 had been taken from her purse and £10 from another.
The man is white, aged between 18 and 25 and had short brown hair. Call Shirley CID on 101.
