Racist grandmother Margaret Walker gets lifetime Asbo for offensive letters

Margaret Walker Margaret Walker

A Hampshire grandmother has today been handed a lifetime ASBO for a "racist" and "frightening" poison pen campaign.

Margaret Walker, 73, from Walnut Drive, Hill Head, has been ordered by magistrates to stop sending "foul" and "abusive" letters.

She has also been ordered to sign every piece of post she sends and supply a return address.

The order came after Walker carried out a five-year campaign of hate - sending around 500 racist letters all around the country.

MPs, pubs, parish council, shops and individuals were among those that received the "extreme" leaflets, which used a variety of racist slurs and graphic hand-drawn images.

Among other insults, Walker referred to people from Pakistan as scroungers and implied that all Muslim men were "paedophiles".

The letters also included rants against Scottish people, who she referred to as "scum" and various politicians.

Walker was also ordered to pay £5,000 costs.

Doesn't need to bother, the media make sure that it implied, by making a song and dance when they are caught and prosecuted....

Probably not a good idea to put her thoughts in a letter but what a girl.......she is entitled to her opinion!

Everybody is so precious about "OH YOU CAN'T SAY THIS & THAT" well she isn't burning flags & killing people like some I could mention is she :D

Totally agree...when will we see a lifetime ban on Muslim extremists chanting "Death to British Police"while holding banners calling for the beheading of those who insult Islam?

I believe that all in Britain have the right to freedom of expression so Mrs Walker maybe should have got a £50 fine instead for upsetting people, and THAT would be over the top in my view.

Of course she's entitled to her opinions, like everyone else. This isn't about stopping her from having these opinions, it's about stopping her sending abusive letters all over the place.

To those bemoaning this conviction, would you be happy with some Abu Hamza-like gimp sending abusive letters around this? I suspect that instead you'd be up in arms about it, and rightly so.

We are privileged to have freedom of speech in this country, but like all other freedoms it comes with responsibility.

The law should apply equally to all regardless of whether we agree with certain groups' or individuals' agendas or not.

Nob head "Abu Hamza" & droopy boobed angry old lady aren't even in the same bracket are they!

The west is sh*t scared of upsetting the likes of Islam cause they don't want to be seen to be upsetting the minorities (or majorities if you like).

You have the likes of Abu Hamza spreading hate & death to the west for years up at Finsbury Park & nobody did sh*t!

Now some mental old lady says something that the Liberals can grab a hold of & she is the biggest racist since Enoch Powell (shakes head).

Fact of the matter is, the Middle eastern types can kill & say what the hell they like & when (like I say) some daft old biddy gets her knickers in a twist & sends out some stupid letter to whoever, she is badass granny!

Thanks for jumping straight in with some abuse, but I fear you're missing the point.

The cr@p that Hamza and his ilk have gotten away with is despicable, and it's ludicrous that it's taken this long for something to be done. But that does not make it right for anyone else to send abusive letters around.

Abuse wasn't aimed at you (sorry if you thought it was).....but that said, they are completely different scenarios!

She was hardly threatening peoples lives, burning flags & such (& I know it was a letter & therefore the recipient didn't know it was a cranky old dear).

Look around the world now & though our governments are invading every middle eastern country going, they are doing with their agendas & not your average everyday person!

People are being far too precious now....

The Crusades. We did them, all nine. Wipe out all non-Christians. "Excuse us, Saladin, but um, not quite sure how to put this, but we've decided that Jeruselem is our spiritual centre, so can you and your Muslim friends just push off ?"

The Slave Trade. Right at the heart of that, weren't we ? Just pop over to African, abduct thousands of natives, ship 'em off to the old New World thingy, and Bob's yer uncle. They get free labour, we get loadsamoney !

Colonialism ! Oh yes ! Walking into other people's countries uninvited, and taking over. What's wrong with that ? I mean we da mn well taught them how to play cricket, didn't we, and how to jolly well show respect for their betters ? Rule Britannia ! Had to sort Jerry out of course - tried to copy our ideas !

Why are we so self-righteous ? Answer : guilt for all the above.

Why does everyone hate us ?
Answer : all the above.

That's the history, and we really couldn't blame the Muslims if they took exception to western capitalism, and us generally wrecking the planet to make money.

The real truth is that the vast majority of people throughout the world have set the past aside and get on fine together. The extremists, and the old lady here could be classified as that, are the ones that get in the news and create a false impression.

They did actually because none of the evidence matches up, if the planes brought the towers down then they would have toppled, not fall straight down, it wasn't burning fuel that brought them down as older buildings have kept standing after being ablaze for a week, the towers were on fire for at most and hour, then there's the trace residue of thermite and explosives found in the wreckage, building 7 seemingly came down on it's own, it was demolished with explosives, the plane that was supposed to have hit the pentagon never existed, also the pilot who was supposed to be flying wasn't able to fly yet, let alone turn a jet through a 200 degree turn only meters from the ground, the part of the pentagon that got hit was where financial records were kept and there was structural work being carried out on the inside of that same wall, the plane that they say was ditched in a field never existed and the pilots who apparently flew the planes at the time were actually found alive and in hiding, now tell me it is a debunked conspiracy theory.

Mostly agree.

The slave trade? We didn't 'abduct' slaves, they were largely sold to us - by their own people. Doesn't make it any less slavery, of course, but let's feel guilty about the right thing!
Actually we did forcibly take people too, many of the slave traders also used to rape the women.
Yeh, true. What I'm saying is, it was somewhat more complex than simply the English turning up in Africa and kidnapping a bunch of slaves.
True, most of the world kidnapped people for slavery, hence the fact that the slave trade existed but Britain was also the main slave trading point between Africa and "The new world".

I believe that all in Britain have the right to freedom of expression so Mrs Walker maybe should have got a £50 fine instead for upsetting people, and THAT would be over the top in my view.

Why is it that the US want to permanently "silence" Julian Assange? Because he uncovered secret files that show that everything I have said is true, this is why he is in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, so he can't be taken to the US and murdered or worse, turned into a walking vegetable, it was him who first found out that the WMD's that Saddam was supposed to have didn't exist, he leaked this to the press and the US were forced to admit that they lied but they won't admit they killed thousands of innocent people for financial gain.

Nope, it's true because I have read research that has been done on it and I've also gone over photo and video evidence with a fine tooth comb in immense detail, computer simulations show that the planes alone would not have brought down the twin towers, one day they will also recreate the impact of one of those planes into one of the towers in small scale with scale models, there's also too many inconsistencies in the US governments story of it.

Conspiracy theories sell newspapers, books, documentaries, and film scripts by the boatload. I suppose the assassination of President Kennedy is a prime example of this thriving industry.

Many crimes involve deceit in an attempt to escape detection. So from that point of view, perhaps conspiracy theories can be useful in that they ensure no stone is left unturned in any investigation.

Ginger, if a young lad with qualifications in agriculture is privy to top secret documents and research material that could prove the American government murdered its own people to justify attacking Iraq and Iran, how come you have not been "eliminated" by the CIA ?

Ginger, if a young lad with qualifications in agriculture is privy to top secret documents and research material that could prove the American government murdered its own people to justify attacking Iraq and Iran, how come you have not been "eliminated" by the CIA ?

Secondly, please tell us the TRUTH about Father Christmas. I always had feelings of doubt when my parents and teachers denied his existence. Typical of parents to try and take credit for the genorosity of that kind old man in a red suit. Evidence ? The da mn presents at the foot of your bed on Christmas morning is your evidence ! What more proof could you want ? It is just a desperate attempt by parents to hang on to their children's affection by claiming that it was they, and not Santa, who put those presents there !
Ha ! Got him cornered now. Don't forget the Tooth Fairy, there's proof of her as well.
No doubt the superior intelligence of Ginger_cyclist will not admit it since that would mean having to dumb down to our "neurotypical" way of thinking.

He/she is right about one thing though, rare for anyone to understanding the way he/she thinks or how he/she sees the world. Definitely a psychological challenge there. :)
Cornered? Really now? Do you know how stupid you're making yourself look? Then again you probably don't need to even do anything to look it and I was wrong, you're not neurotypical, you're brain dead.

Been a bad day for you and Georgem, little Gingerbread Man !

Never mind, your posts are always interesting to read, and I hope everyone respects your sincerity. I do.

We were just having a little joke with you there, going out on a limb with the conspiracy theory.

What comics do you get your information from and, more to the point, what chemicals are you on ?

Really ? I'm not the wing nut here who is convinced that it was a conspiracy.

"The CIA hasn't come after you because they only go after high profile people". Wow, and you said I'm brain dead.
