HUNDREDS of women braved the soggy weather and chilly air to run around Southampton Common under cover of darkness in the fight against cancer.
Many were armed with glow-sticks and fairy lights to take part in the city’s first Race for Life Twilight.
Like its sister event, Race for Life, which has taken place each July for the past 15 years, participants choose whether to walk, jog or run the 5k route.
Mums, grans, sisters, friends and workmates came together to enjoy an inspirational night out.
The event was raising money for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work to beat over 200 types of cancer.
