Plans for 33-home scheme in Romsey Plans for 33-home scheme in Romsey

COUNCIL planners are to consider a 33- home development for Romsey.

An application has been made to Test Valley Borough Council for land south of Sandy Lane, next to the 800-home Abbotswood scheme.

The proposal, which the Abbotswood developers are among objectors to, includes demolition of some existing homes and outbuildings.

A mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom houses is proposed, with a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terraced dwellings ranging from bungalows to two and a half storeys high.

Forty per cent of the homes would be for affordable housing.

A council report has recommended councillors approve the project permission with 20 conditions.

Can anyone tell me in the simplest of terms what exactly affordable housing means?

So that means 13.2 affordable homes then.
