London is the premiere pairing of two short plays, T5 and Seawall, both first produced in 2008.

Each play is 30 minutes long, each features a single actor, and both are compelling stories.

The curiously titled T5 focuses on Cassie, alone in a London bedroom, struggling to cope with life, and heading for a breakdown.

Cassie – convincingly played by Abby Ford – should be picking up her daughter from school, suspects her husband is having an affair, and sings pop songs as her mind begins to fragment.

To the sound of celestial music and in full view of the audience, the set is then dismantled by stage-hands (technically interesting but why not just blackout?) and another actor strolls on to deliver the second play Seawall.

Alex – mesmerically played by Cary Crankson – is a young photographer, happily married with a six-year-old daughter.

While swimming in the Mediterranean, Alex helplessly watches his daughter falling off rocks on the beach... and his life disintegrates.

Both plays are powerfully written by Simon Stephens. However, each play would work better on radio.
