THE funeral of Hampshire student Emily Longley took place in New Zealand last night.

The service took place at St Joseph’s church in Takapuna, on the north shore of Auckland, at midnight GMT.

After being released by the coroner, Emily’s body was returned to New Zealand, the home of both her divorced parents, Mark and Caroline.

A public church service was followed by a private cremation.

An inquest into Emily’s death was opened and adjourned on May 9. It heard a post-mortem examination failed to reveal the exact cause of her death.

His parents, Leigh, 53, and Anita, 50, of the same address, have been charged with perverting the course of justice.
