Hampshire Against Fluoridation to hold meeting

ANTI-fluoride campaigners are holding the AGM of their action group tomorrow.

Hampshire Against fluoridation, which has led the fight against plans to add the chemical to the tap water of 200,000 people in parts of Southampton, Eastleigh, Totton, Netley and Rownhams, is urging interested members of the public to hear about how its campaign is progressing.

The group has been a vocal and active opponent of South Central Strategic Health Authority's scheme to fluoridate water since before the decision was taken to approve it, in February 2010.

As reported, health bosses are currently working with Southern Water on the specifics of how to put fluoride in tap water, after last year defeating a High Court legal challenge aimed at having the controversial project ruled unlawful.

The SHA is hopeful fluoridation will be in place by next year, before it is disbanded as part of the Coalition Government's reforms of the NHS.

HAF members have continued to actively campaign against the scheme, and will be holding their annual general meeting at Central Baptist Church, Devonshire Road, Southampton, at 2pm.

Isn't it strange, doctors cannot force one person to take a drug, yet the government wants to force everyone to be drugged with fluoride, a prescription drug, against their will and with no medical supervision, no control over how much you consume and no treatment for side effects.

These people are mad. They will not understand science, they do not accept mass medication already occurs via bread and salt, and you cannot reason with them. I have tried. Birmingham has added Flouride to water for 3m people for 50 years. Do the maths. No one has died, no one has been harmed, and no one has convinced even the most dim solicitor to take their case. They can protest all they like, it's a free country, just don't use my money via legal aid. They sure as hell will not use their own money.

Yes, it is a free country and fluoride is a legal drug. Anyone who wants it can obtain it and put it in their glass of water. So, take it if you wish, but leave the rest of us out of being forced to do so. Problem solved.
