IT will be free fun for children at a Hampshire tourist attraction during half-term.

Portchester Castle is laying on its usual offering of historical exhibitions, collections and interactive guides during the mid-term break.

And from 10am until 4pm everyday between February 13 and 21 up to three children under the age of 16 will be admitted free with each full paying adult or concession.

A spokesman said: “The castle offers a truly historic family day out.

“With its towering keep and mighty walls it is the most impressive and best preserved of the Roman ‘Saxon Shore’ Forts and a history-lovers’ dream.

It stood on the front line throughout the Hundred Years War, Henry V used it to depart for Agincourt in 1415, and it housed troops in the Civil War and prisoners during the Dutch and Napoleonic Wars.”

Admission is £4.30 for adults and £3.70 for concessions.
