STAFF at a Southampton children’s hospital ward are organising a family funday to raise cash to help children in their care.
It is hoped the event at the Novotel in the city will help raise enough money to pay for televisions for the youngsters on G2 Paediatric Medical Unit at Southampton General hospital.
The ward cares for children with a variety of illnesses, some of whom can be there for months at a time.
The funday is being held on September 26 from 2pm to 8pm and entertainment will include a children’s entertainer leading party games, performing magic tricks, balloon modelling and a puppet show.
There will also be an inflatable bungee run, a raffle, teddy tombola, cake sale and face paints.
Organiser Laura Boniface said: “There will be lots of things for the whole family to enjoy and every single penny raised will go towards the ward. We hope to get the televisions by Christmas if enough is raised.”
Tickets cost £3 and are available from the ward, email fundraisingforpmu@|yahoo.co.uk or call 023 8079 6485.
