FUNDRAISERS are celebrating after a daredevil abseil 60ft down Southampton General Hospital raised more than £30,000 for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

A total of 100 fundraisers took the plunge for the Daily Echo-backed Every Step Appeal, which is aiming to collect £40,000 in the next year to ensure those families battling the disease get vital support.

But the one event alone raised a staggering £28,000, which totalled £32,000 with the added Gift Aid contributions
