Pregnant woman attacked by robber
A HEAVILY pregnant woman was knocked to the ground by a robber who attempted to snatch her handbag as she walked along a Southampton street.
The 20-year-old woman, from Hedge End, was on her way to work in Woolston when she was attacked in Victoria Road.
As she reached the Age UK charity shop she was knocked to the ground from behind by someone trying to grab the bag she was wearing on her shoulder.
The robbery attempt failed, and the offender ran off towards Portsmouth Road.
The woman was checked by an ambulance crew at the scene and her doctor, and thankfully her unborn child is not believed to have been harmed. The mother-to-be was not injured during the ordeal.
Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or someone wearing a dark hoodie with long brown hair hanging from each side of the hood running from the scene, to get in touch.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 8.45am yesterday, should call PC Simon Murray at Bitterne on 101 or ring the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.

According to the TV news she's got a fractured hip so someone's wrong echo
If someone has got it wrong on this, I'd suggest it isn't the Echo.
