A MAN was robbed after a sneak attack in Southampton.
The 25-year-old victim was walking alone through Hoglands Park when he was approached by a man who started talking to him.
A second man then ran up behind him and hit him in the face before both men wrestled him to the floor, injuring his forehead and cheek.
The second man then held him by the neck while the first demanded his wallet and phone, which the victim handed over.
The men took £60 from his wallet and gave it back before leaving the scene just after 2.30am on Sunday, July 12.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses with the first man described as white, around 5ft 10ins, of skinny build, aged in his 20s, with a spotty complexion, light coloured hair and wearing a short sleeved t-shirt.
The second man was described as around 5ft 7ins, of stocky, broad build, aged in his 20s, with short, light-coloured hair and was not wearing a top.
DC Andy Spooner said: “It was a busy Saturday evening and CCTV shows there were people in other areas of the park at the time of the incident. The suspects ran off towards the roundabout by Debenhams.
“I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Spooner at Southampton Police Station on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
