TWO brothers appeared in court today facing charges of allegedly causing causing grievous bodily harm to a Southampton mum.

Geoffrey Midmore, 26 and Billy Midmore, 22, both of no fixed address, appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court for allegedly attacking Carla Whitlock on the night of September 18.

The pair both stood in the dock smirking and laughing as they were read their charges and were told they would be remanded in custody and sent to appear at Southampton Crown Court on October 23.

Geoffrey Midmore has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and conspiracy to commit GBH with intent.

Billy Midmore was charged with conspiracy to commit GBH.

The court heard how mum-of-six Carla Whitlock was allegedly involved in a targeted attack outside of Turtle Bay restaurant in Guildhall Square when acid was thrown in her face.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo, staff from Turtle Bay came to help Miss Whitlock and the acid caused her to lose her sight in one eye and suffer severe burns to her face, neck and arms.

Billy also faced a charge of possessing a bladed article for a separate incident on August 6, which will be dealt with at Southampton Crown Court.
