A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was threatened at knife-point by a masked man in a terrifying early morning robbery on a Southampton estate.

The youngster was attacked while he was walking in the Thornhill estate at 7am yesterday.

Now police have made an urgent appeal for anyone who witnessed the robbery to contact them immediately.

The teenage was in Bursledon Road, near to Herrick Close, when a man wearing a balaclava approached him.

The man brandished a knife and threatened to hurt him unless he handed over money.

The frightened boy gave the man £4 from his bag before the thief walked off.

The youngster was uninjured but left shaken and upset.

The man is described as 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and spoke with a local accent.

He wore a black balaclava, plain grey hooded top and plain black tracksuit bottoms.

PC Patrick Young said: “Did you see anyone matching this description in the area at the time of the robbery? Do you know who it was?

“If so we are keen to speak to you as you may have information that could help with our investigation.”
