HAVE you seen these men?

Officers investigating a suspected acid attack have released e-fit images of two men thought to be involved.

A 47-year-old man was attacked on Tuesday May 3.

As reported, the victim said he was approached by two men in Lee-On-Solent High Street as he was leaving for work at around 4am.

An unknown liquid was thrown in his face.

He described the first man as white, around 5ft 8, in his early twenties, medium build, with blue eyes, dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing white trainers and a blue or black tracksuit with a Queens Park Rangers emblem on the left shoulder.

He had black dots tattooed on his finger and was also said to speak with a strong Scottish accent.

The victim described the second man as white, 5ft 3, in his late teens with red cheeks and was clean shaved.

He had pierced ears and was wearing studs, blue jeans and a black and white striped collared shirt under a black hooded bomber jacket.

He spoke with a slight Scottish accent.

Investigating Officer DS David West said: "I am issuing two e-fit images in the hope of speaking to these two men about this incident. We have spoken again to the victim who has updated the descriptions we had previously issued to help us to prepare these images.

"The investigation is progressing to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened and specialist resources from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were deployed as a precaution to enable officers to identify the nature of the liquid that the victim described. Preliminary examination of samples recovered from the scene suggests that the liquid was Sodium Hydroxide, which is also known as caustic soda. This substance does not present a wider risk to the local community."

"The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to his face, where he remains.

"I'd urge anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us as they may be able to assist our investigation".
