A MAN stripped and performed an "indecent act" in front of a woman on a Hampshire beach.

He approached the 25-year-old woman in Eastney Beach, Portsmouth, and asked her to take his picture.

As she went to take it he stripped off and performed the act.

The woman walked away and the flasher left in the direction of Fort Cumberland Road.

No contact was made but police said the woman was "distressed" by what happened.

Police appealed for witnesses to the incident at around 6pm on Thursday.

The man is described as having tanned skin, aged between 20 and 25, around 5ft 6ins, slim but toned and with short spiky black hair.

He was wearing aviator-style sunglasses, a black jacket and trousers. He was also carrying a rucksack and a Samsung mobile phone.

Sergeant Dean Juster said: “This is a rare occurrence in this area and has caused considerable distress to the victim.

“We are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen this man on the beach. The victim believes there were a number of people in the vicinity who were fishing so we would like to hear from them as they may have seen something that can help us track this man down.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Juster on 101, quoting 44160262892, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
