AGGRESSIVE door-to-door salespeople are targeting Hampshire homes, police are warning.
Officers say "altercations" have taken place when homeowners have turned down products from sellers knocking doors in the Chandler's Ford and Eastleigh area.
Police say the altercations have been a result of residents not wanting to purchase items.
Hampshire Constabulary are now writing to warn residents about the situation and to remind all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
A force spokesperson said: "Whenever you get an unexpected knock on the door, please check to see who is on the other side of your door before opening it.
"Either look through a side window, look through a spy hole, or simply ask out loud who it is.
"If you do not know them, establish who they are and what they are there for before you open the door.
"Please remember if the cold caller sales are unsuccessful, they are unlikely to return in future."
