More than 200 people gathered at a Hampshire crematorium for the funeral of an "inspirational" daughter with a "zest" for life.

Family and friends of Kate Clayton said their emotional last goodbyes to the diving instructor at West Vale Crematorium today.

A convoy of motobikes and landrovers slowly pulled up to the entrance following a hearse bearing a floral tribute in her nane.

Her coffin bore photographs of her engrossed in her most fond loves in live - diving and motorbikes.

Kate died at Southampton General Hospital on February 18 following severe injuries sustained in a car crash in the Cayman Islands.

It came a week after the 30-year-old from Hedge End was flown back home to Southampton.

Family and friends received an overwhelming response from an appeal to raise £100,000 to fly her home.

Mourners filed into the chapel to one of her favourite pieces of music "Free" by Bob Mosely.

They included the former Wildern School pupil's childhood friends and colleagues from Cotswold Outdoor Store, a motorcycle courier company iin London and Sky TV, where she worked until December 2013, until moving to the Cayman Islands to follow her dream working as a dive master.

Jason Drury, leading the non religious service, said: "Kate brought motivation, humour and zest for life that left us amazed and captivated.

"She was adored by so many people - a fair and just lady.

"Kate could be relied on to fight your corner and acheive your dream."

Other music played included Always by Bon Jovi, and a poem "Miss me but let me go" before the service was played out to Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.

Kate's mum Jo afterwards hailed her daughter as "inspiring and infectious" and said: "Kate didn't just sit around wishing she actually made things happen.

"We need to keep Kate's memories and hope that by doing so she has and can help us all by admiring her zest for life, grabbing it in both hands and living her dream."

The family intends to set up a trust called Kate's Fighting Fund to help others.

Kate was left in a critical condition when her Wrangler Jeep left the road and crashed into a tree in Old Robin Road in Grand Cayman on January 11.
