A SAINTS legend has helped celebrate the official opening of a new ice parlour.

Matt Le Tissier was in Eastleigh at the new Creams Cafe to meet fans, sign autographs and of course sample the ice cream.

As word spread of Matt’s appearance a steady stream of fans appeared.

The ice cream parlour, in Wells Place close to the leisure complex, which has been running for around two months, has donated £500 to the Hampshire Hornets Wheelchair Basketball Club based in Eastleigh and members were also down to celebrate the opening.

The visit came about through former Saints player Nicky Banger, who knows the owner through his job at Woking Football Club and arranged for Matt to come down.

Nicky’s 10-year-old daughter Sophia also plays for the Hampshire Hornets.

Long-term friends Nicky and Matt tucked into a banana and toffee split between them and Matt also took home one of the special Matt Le Tissier decorated cupcakes the ice cream parlour had made for the occasion.
