POLICE are hunting a burglar after he stole valuable jewellery from a home in Hampshire.

A couple in their sixties disturbed the man in their home in Old School Gardens, West End, at about 2.15pm on July 12.

He fled through their back garden, running away with jewellery that included earrings and gold rings.

Hampshire Constabulary has now issued an efit image of the man they want to speak to about the burglary.

He is described as white, in his late twenties or early thirties, 6ft 1ins tall and of slim build.

He had dark, flat, straight and unwashed hair with the fringe pushed to one side and stubble on his upper lip and around his chin.

The man is also described as having a thin, slim, pointed nose and two twisted front teeth, while he was wearing a plain blue windcheater top.

Investigating officer PC Paul Rose, from Southampton CID, said: “This is a quiet cul-de-sac off a busy main road.

“We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the efit image, or anyone who has information about what took place.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who had been in this area before this incident and had noticed anyone acting suspiciously.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Rose on 101, quoting 44160259473, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
