A HAMPSHIRE supermarket has celebrated the launch of a new charity partnership.
Sainsbury’s in Eastleigh has teamed up with its local charity of the year, Breast Cancer Haven Wessex.
Chosen by customers through a vote in store and online, the charity will now receive a year’s worth of support through fundraising and awareness.
Representative from the charity joined Sainsbury’s colleagues over the weekend to kick start the partnership by raising awareness and doing a coin collection.
The charity offers advice for those diagnosed with cancer on money, work and combatting stress, as well as voicing concerns and fears.
The nationwide charity has its Hampshire centre in Titchfield.
Heidi Rehman, community fundraiser at the charity said: “We’re really excited to have been chosen as the store’s new charity of the year. The partnership will help us raise the profile of the work we do.”
Upcoming fundraising events include a celebrity quiz night at Winchester Guildhall, a comedy night at The Mayflower and abseiling events.
