A MAN has been fined £250 for stealing lead from a Hampshire church.

Paul Anthony Fuller, 40, admitted the theft from Our Lady of Walsingham Roman Catholic Church in White Hart Lane, Portchester.

Fareham magistrates also ordered Fuller, of Bayly Avenue, Portchester, to pay a £25 victim surcharge and £85 costs for the offence which took place on December 18.

Fuller was also fined £50 for possessing two small bags of the class B drug cannabis and a further £150 for producing five cannabis plants at his home. He admitted both offences.
