THIS is the man police are hunting after a 92-year-old woman had her handbag stolen in a supermarket.
The pensioner had left the black leather bag, containing £200 cash, in her shopping trolley while in Iceland in West Street, Fareham.
Police say the frail victim was left shaken and upset by the ordeal and have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.
It is believed the man boarded a bus for Southampton after leaving the store.
Investigating officer PC Dave Lynn, of Fareham District CID, said: “This crime has left a vulnerable member of our community shaken and visibly upset. Family members are trying to reassure her as she is now worried about leaving her home. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the theft or who can recognise this man to contact me at Fareham Police Station.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind shoppers to please be aware not to leave your bag unattended at any time.”
The theft happened at around 1.30pm on April 9.
Call police on 101.
