ANOTHER man has died following warnings of a 'rogue' batch of heroin in Hampshire.

The 33-year-old is the second person to die after being taken ill over possible use of a batch of the drug.

He had been in a critical condition in hospital, but died yesterday.

Next-of-kin have been informed, but police are yet to name the man.

This death comes after a 36-year-old man was taken ill in Paulsgrove on Wednesday and taken to hospital, but died later the same day.

Post-mortem examinations are due to be held in the next few days to help establish the exact causes of death in both cases and police said the coroner has been informed.

A 39-year-old woman at the same address in Paulsgrove was also taken ill, but was later discharged from hospital.

Police received a similar report on Wednesday relating to a 40-year-old man in Southsea, but he was also later discharged from hospital.

The police are trying to stop the supply of this batch of heroin and make people aware of the dangers.

Three men, aged 57, 48 and 32, from Hampshire, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

The 32-year-old man and the 48-year-old man remain in police custody for questioning, The 57-year-old man received a caution for possessing cannabis and was released with no further action.
