TV personality and Daily Echo columnist Fred Dinenage was on hand to launch a new construction industry training centre.
The Meridian Television presenter helped cut the ribbon at a new PTP Quality Training facility in Shedfield.
The unit, which has created five jobs, will provide courses for using excavators, dumper trucks, ride-on rollers and forklifts as well as health and safety skills programmes.
Fred was joined at the training and test centre by the Mayor of Winchester Barry Lipscomb and George Hollingbery, the MP for Meon Valley.
Representatives from construction and landscaping companies also came to view the facilities to see how they could benefit from new heavy plant, street works and environmental training courses. The new site, at Five Oaks Farm in Winchester Road, consists of several training rooms for indoor events, a computer suite for testing and also an area for practical machinery training.
Entrepreneur Helen Scourfield, who runs the Pembrokeshire-based firm, said: “All of our courses are highly interactive and practical participation brings out the best in everyone.”
“We are committed to building lasting partnerships in Hampshire.”
