A THREE-car accident on the A31 near Ringwood caused long tailbacks.

One man had to be cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle after the collision near the Texaco filling station yesterday afternoon.

Two crews from Ringwood fire station were sent to the scene of the accident - described by police as a shunt.

The collision occurred just after 1pm and it was almost 2.20pm before the road was back to normal.
